Budugu is rounding up nearby spots…
Every place on Budugu comes from a dog parent who went there with their dog. Nothing is copied from other maps, and nothing is paid for. Here's how Budugu decides what to trust — and how you can tell at a glance.
A dog parent was there and tapped "I was here" in the last 30 days, and nobody has reported a change since. This is the one to trust for a plan this weekend.
Dog parents have confirmed it before, just not in the last 30 days. Not a warning — only older news. One fresh visit turns it back into Budugu Verified.
Added by a dog parent and checked by Budugu, but no one has confirmed it in person with "I was here" yet. Been there? Be the first.
A dog parent reported in the last 90 days that access, pet rules or other details may have changed, and no one has confirmed it since. It clears as soon as a dog parent visits and confirms it's still good.
Places change. A gate gets locked, a new society committee changes the pet rules, the monsoon floods a trail. A confirmation from the last month is recent enough to plan around; one from last year is a clue, not a promise. So Budugu Verified runs out on its own, and Budugu always shows how long ago the last visit was.
Each dog parent can confirm a place once a day, so one keen visitor can't pile up confirmations in an afternoon.
A dog parent adds the place and drops its pin. Budugu checks it before it appears — until then, only the dog parent who added it can see it. Listings with language Budugu doesn't allow are sent straight back for a change.
Once a place is live, any logged-in dog parent can improve its details, and every edit is recorded.
After confirming a visit, dog parents can say what they saw: leash on or off, shade, water, a fence. Each dog parent's latest answer from the past year counts once, and the most common answer shows on the place.
On a tie, Budugu goes with the cautious answer — leash on, no shade, no water, not fenced. Promising a fence that isn't there is worse than underselling a place. “Not confirmed” means no dog parent has answered yet.
Wildlife and community animal sightings count for 90 days, because animals move around. Fact answers count for 365 days.
The “Best … for Budugu today” card on the home page follows four plain rules, in this order:
No hidden scoring, and no one can move a place up the list.
Badges, Today's pick, and the order places are listed in come only from what dog parents report. If Budugu ever shows something paid for, it'll be clearly labelled — and it will never change any of these.
Badges are what dog parents saw on the day — not an inspection. Budugu doesn't visit every place itself. Check the signs when you arrive, follow the place's rules, and judge whether it suits your dog. The Terms of Use say more.
