Corrections and removals

Last updated 30 September 2026

A wrong detail on Budugu can send a dog parent to a locked gate. So Budugu would much rather fix a place than delete it — a corrected listing helps the next dog parent, a missing one helps nobody. Here's how fixes happen, and when a place does come off the map.

Fix it yourself

Most corrections take a minute, and any logged-in dog parent can make them:

  • Edit on the place's page fixes the name, pin, description, leash rules and other details. Every edit is recorded.
  • I was here confirms the place is still as described, and lets you say what you saw — leash, shade, water, fencing.
  • Report an issue with this listing flags that access or pet rules changed, something's incorrect, or the place has closed. It shows on the place for other dog parents straight away.

How Budugu weighs these is on How Budugu verifies.

When Budugu takes a place off the map

  • It has closed for good, or no longer exists.
  • Dogs aren't welcome there any more.
  • It's a private home, or somewhere that isn't open to visitors.
  • It isn't safe for dogs or people, in a way a correction can't fix.
  • It was added as spam, or breaks the Community guidelines.

A single report doesn't remove a place — Budugu looks first. For anything else, Budugu corrects the listing and keeps it.

If you run or manage the place

Café owners, park managers and society committees are welcome to help keep a listing right. Write to hello@budugu.in with the place's link, what's wrong, and how you're connected to it. Budugu may ask you to show that connection — an email from the place's own address, or its official website or social page naming you.

What you can ask Budugu to change

  • facts about the place: its name, pin, entry, pet rules and other details
  • that it has closed, or no longer welcomes dogs
  • photos that show your staff, your customers or private areas

What stays

  • Dog parents' visits, answers, reports, comments and photos — they're what dog parents saw on the day. Budugu removes them only if they break the Community guidelines, not because a place disagrees with them.
  • Badges and Today's pick. They come from dog parents' visits and can't be changed, bought or asked for.

Want to reply to a comment? Leave a tip of your own on the place, and say you run it — dog parents appreciate hearing from you.

If a post is about you

A photo of you, your home, your car or your family, or a comment that names you, can be reported from its ⋯ menu, or sent to hello@budugu.in. Budugu takes these down.

How long it takes

Budugu usually replies within a few days, and always tells you what it changed or why it didn't. If you disagree with the decision, or it's a formal complaint or legal request, the Grievance Officer page has the process and the timelines Budugu keeps to.
